Morris Orell Parker, 73, husband of Betty Ann MacDougall Parker, died Friday, January 25, 2019, at his home.
Born November 17, 1945, in Lake City, he was a son of the late Morris Billy Parker and the late Maggie Ann DuBose Parker. He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of Manning; two daughters, Monica Maree Plikus of Sumter and Sarah Evelyn Nielsen of Myrtle Beach; three sons, Thomas Anthony Maggio of Millville, New Jersey, Bobby Joe Maggio and Michael Van Maggio, both of Sumter; a grandson, Tyler Orell Plikus of Sumter; 16 stepgrandchildren; five step great grandchildren; two brothers, Toby Parker of Alcolu and Hoyt Parker of Sumter; two sisters, Dezaree Clayton of Manning and Vileta Miller of Florence; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. John Matthews officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, Monica Maree Plikus, 2849 September Drive, Sumter.
