Cookout celebrates back-to-back football championships

Manning Junior High ended season with 8-0, winning their conference championship for the second year in a row under the guidance of Coach Brian Joyner. To help the players celebrate, Chris and Angela Weeks gathered the support of other football parents and have planned a cookout for the team and the cheerleading squad. The Weeks’ son, Amary’on Kennedy, played running back, safety and corner under #4. Kennedy plans to play when he moves up to Manning High School next year. “He has a passion for the game,” said Angela Weeks. The event will be at J.C. Briton Park in Manning from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, and is free to players, cheerleaders and their families, as well as those who have supported the team throughout the season. Monetary donations to cover food costs, as well as donations of cups, plates, condiments, drinks or chips would be appreciated. For more information on the event, call Angela Weeks at (803) 460-8440 or Chris Weeks at (803) 460-7963.
