Special Weather Statement calls for strong thunderstorms, winds

The National Weather Service out of Columbia has issued a Special Weather Statement for Clarendon County and neighboring areas. The statement calls for strong thunderstorms to impact portions of Clarendon County, along with portions of eastern Orangeburg, southeastern Calhoun, Sumter and southern Lee counties. At 3:57 p.m., the NWC doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 6 miles north of Mulberry to 7 miles northeast of Bamberg, moving east at 25 mph. Hazards include winds of 35-45 mph. Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of ight, unsecured objects
