In a Special Weather Statement released overnight, the National Weather Service out of Columbia is reminding Clarendoon County motorists that dangerous road conditions are possible throughout he morning due lingering ice from Winter Storm Grayson.
“Black ice is possible on area roads this morning,” the statement reads. “Road surfaces that appear wet may actually be ice-covered and provide little to no traction. Motorists are urged to use caution while driving, especially on bridges, overpasses and secondary roads.”
The NWS said road conditions should improve Friday afternoon as temperatures rise above freezing.
