James McLeod

mARION – James McLeod, 76, husband of Betty Lester McLeod, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Born June 2, 1941, in Alcolu, he was a son of the late Willie McLeod and Lucille Hodge McLeod.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at Hayes F. Samuels Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church St. in Manning. Burial followed in Florence National Cemetery in Florence.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St.Mark AME Church’s building fund, 6097 Alderman Camp Road, Alcolu, SC 29001.
The family will receive friends at the home, 505 Lipscomb

The holidays are generally happy times for those who celebrate them and have families that get together. However, there are some people in the world who may not be so jolly during that time of the year. Such people may have to fight hard to avoid experiencing depression. Individuals who are most susceptible to holiday depression include single persons; persons with no close family; low-income families; recently divorced persons; and people diagnosed with clinical depression.

Bozard family dedicates plaque to Mutt Bozard, starts fund in memory

The family of the late Dr. H.P. “Mutt” Bozard, a longtime member of the Clarendon County Fire Department, presented County Fire Chief Frances Richbourg with a plaque in Bozard’s memory on Tuesday night during the CCFD annual banquet. Pictured with Richbourg are Bozard’s widow, Lynne; his daughter, Ashton; his son, Bo; and his daughter-in-law, Amy. Bozard died July 17, 2017, after more than 30 years of service with the department, the last 16 of those as battalion chief.
