Guilty Pleas: Nov. 6-10

The following guilty pleas were heard Nov. 6-10 during a term of General Sessions Court in Clarendon County before Circuit Court Judge Michael G. Nettles. John Billups of 205 East Huggins St. in Manning pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to one count of financial transaction card fraud of a value of $500 or less in a six-month period, receiving a sentence of one year in prison, suspended to one year’s probation. Two other similar charges were dropped during the plea agreement. Frederick Devon Butler of 1032 Leon McFaddin Road in Galbe pleaded guilty Nov. 8 to possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine or cocaine base, first offense, receiving a sentence of three years in prison, suspended to six months’ probation. He also pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine, first offense, receiving the game, concurrent sentence. Michael Calvin of 1083 Chase Circle in Alcolu pleaded guilty Nov. 8 to shoplifting of a value of $2,000 or less, enhancement, receiving a sentence of three years in prison, suspended to six months in prison and two years’ probation. Three other charges of shoplifting were dropped during the plea agreement. Daniel Edward Gandy Sr. of 1063 Kolb Road in Manning pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to two counts of second-degree burglary, non-violent, receiving concurrent sentences of 10 years in prison, suspended to six months in prison and three years’ probation. He also pleaded guilty to grand larceny of a value more than $2,000 but less than $10,000, receiving a concurrent sentence of five years in prison, suspended to six months in prison and three years’ probation. Jeremy Lashed Hilton of 1200 Plummer Circle in Manning pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to second-degree assault and battery, receiving a sentence of three years in prison, suspended to one year’ s probation. Annie Jean Johnson of 1089 Pleasant Grove Road in Alcolu pleaded guilty Nov. 8 to forgery, receiving a sentence of two days and time-served. According to the Clarendon County Public Court Index, she served one day after her arrest Nov. 12, 2014. Kasmon Lyn McGirt of 3700 9th Ave. North, No. D25 in Saint Petersburg, Florida, pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to possession of 28 grams or 1 ounce or less of marijuana or 10 grams or less of hash, first offense, receiving a sentence of 60 days in jail. He also pleaded guilty to unlawful carrying of a pistol, receiving a concurrent sentence of 60 days in jail. Finally, McGirt pleaded guilty to failure to stop for a blue light, resulting in no injury or death, first offense, receiving a concurrent sentence of three year in prison, suspended to six months’ probation. Jeff Bernard Reardon of 4790 U.S. 378 in Turbeville pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to possession of a narcotic in Schedule I LSD and Schedule II, first offense, receiving a sentence of 30 days in jail or the payment of a $100 fine. Damie Tywan Rush of 1057 Rainbow Lake Road in Gable pleaded guilty Nov. 8 to third-degree assault and battery, receiving a sentence of two days in jail and time-served. According to the Clarendon County Public Court Index, Rush served one day at the Clarendon County Detention Center after his arrest on Aug. 6. Kelly Shanette Scott of 1063 Kolb Road in Manning pleaded guilty Nov. 9 to possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine or cocaine base, first offense, receiving a sentence of three years in prison, suspended to 27 days in jail and three years’ probation. She also pleaded guilty to second-degree burglary, non-violent, receiving a sentence of 10 years in prison, suspended to three years’ probation. She also pleaded guilty to grand larceny of a value more than $2,000, but less than $10,000, receiving a sentence of five years in prison, suspended to three years’ probation.
