The South Carolina Department of Public Safety announced Tuesday afternoon the loss of one of its own following an early morning wreck. Trooper Daniel Keith Rebman of Greenville County died Tuesday afternoon from complications and injuries received from a vehicle wreck while on duty Tuesday morning. Rebman was on routine patrol on Interstate 385 near Bridges Road when his vehicle was struck from behind by a truck. Rebman graduated from Patrol School in September 2016. “Trooper Rebman had only been on the road as a trooper for about a year, but he had developed close bonds with troopers through his work as a dispatcher and time on the road,” said SCHP Commander Col. Chris Williamson. “He was well-loved and this loss is felt acutely throughout our ranks. We ask for continued prayer for his family and for the troopers of Troop 3 who worked alongside him.”
