Saints destroy Newberry Eagles

The Clarendon Hall varsity Saints traveled Friday to Newberry Academy and defeated the Eagles by a score of 80-34. Wells Robinson led the offense with touchdown runs of seven, 30 and 29 yards and three two-point conversions. Tyrese Mitchum scored on touchdown runs of 25 and 55 yards. Bobby Ashba scored one touchdown and three two-point conversions. Josh Black scored two touchdowns on runs of 80 and 23 yards. Zyan Gilmore caught two touchdown passes from Quarterback Dylan Way from 56 and 45 yards, and Kylic Horton caught a two-point conversion. Mitchum had 11 rushes for 151 on the night; Black had six rushes for 108 yards; and Robinson had seven rushes for 79 yards. Way was 7-11 in passing for 153 yards total, with Gilmore having three receptions for 110 yards. Robinson led the Saints on defense with 14 tackles. Justin James had 10, and Ben Corbet had eight. Way and Gilmore had pass interceptions, and Gilmore had a fumble recovery. The Saints finish the regular season at 6-4 and will have a bye this week. They will start the first round of playoffs Nov. 3.
