Polly Ann Usher Brunson

ALCOLU - Polly Ann Usher Brunson, 83, widow of Clarence Wentworth Brunson Jr., died Monday, October 23, 2017 at a local nursing facility.

Born in Hartsville, and raised in Bennettsville, she was a daughter of the late Brooks Usher and the late Jane Bennett Usher. Mrs. Brunson was an active member of Graham Baptist Church. She was a retired school teacher with more than 32 years of service, having taught third grade at Salem Schools Inc. and home economics at Ebenezer Middle and Hillcrest Middle schools.

Survivors include a son, C.W. Brunson (Margaret Lynn) of Alcolu; a daughter, Sharon Eubanks (Mack) of Columbia; three grandchildren, Greer Eubanks (Marissa), Kayla Matthews (Graison) and Emily Brunson; and two great-grandchildren, Bobby Eubanks and Grai Matthews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Dawkins.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. John Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include3 Graison Matthews, Zach Byrd, Edward Brunson, Owen Smith, John Hardy and Mark Bradley.

The family will receive friends at the home of C.W. and Margaret Lynn Brunson, 2830 Plowden Mill Road in Alcolu.
