Harris, Cook unite in marriage in Anderson

Sarah Elizabeth Harris and Anthony Neil Cook, both of Atlanta, Georgia, were united in marriage on Aug. 19, 2017, at The Bleckley Station in Anderson.
The bride is the daughter of Butch Harris and Beth Stewart Harris of Anderson. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Madison Stewart, formerly of New Zion, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leon Harris Jr., formerly of Manning. She is a 2013 graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design, from which she received a bachelor of fine arts degree in advertising design. She is employed as a senior digital designer and creative manager with PureCars in Atlanta.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anthony Cook of Anderson. He is the grandson of Morris Neil Owen of Anderson and the late Shirley Hall Owen, formerly of Anderson, and Mary Mitchell Cook of Anderson. He is a 2013 graduate of Anderson University, from which he received a bachelor of arts degree in communication with a minor in graphic design. He is employed as a video producer of "America's Real Estate Show" with Bull Realty. He is also the owner of Coffee and Camera LLC, a photography and video production company.
Dr. Don Cox officiated the double-ring ceremony, which was held at 6 p.m.
The Upstate Srings Trio provided music, presenting a program of traditional wedding songs both prior to and during the ceremony.
Escorted by her father, Leon Harris III, the bride was given in marriage by her parents.
Sarah entered the ceremony to Pachebel's "Canon in D." She wore a champagne-colored Matthew Christopher strapless, floe-length gown of dotted Swis tulle, which was overlaid with beading and embroidered French lace. Dotted Swiss covered buttons embellished the back of the chapel-length train. Her veil, designed with imported French lace, complimented her ensemble.
The bride carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, cream and pale blush roses, seeded eucalyptus and greenery. Enhancing the bouquet was a handkerchief given to the bride at her birth by her great-grandmother, the late Caddie Elizabeth Gibbons, formerly of New Zion.
Atlanta resident Marie Nichole Mele, a friend of the bride, served as maid of honor for the ceremony. Bridesmaids included New Zion resident Mary Marshall McKenzie, cousin of the bride; and Lilburn, Georgia resident Helen Szuhan, Anderson resident Kelly Johanna Giraldo and Spartanburg resident Katherine Laura Weaver, all of them friends of the bride.
Abigail Kelly Thrift, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jason Thrift of Williamston, served as the flower girl. Hunter Clinton Logan, cousin of the bride, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Casey Logan of Chester, Virginia, served as the ring-bearer.
Anderson resident Ray Anthony Cook, father of the groom, and Sebring, Florida, resident Nic Alexander McMillan, both served as best men. Groomsmen included Pendleton resident Andrew Seth Aldridge, Simpsonville resident Christopher Ryan Crumpton, Greenville resident Kyle Austin Thompson, and Greer resident Zachary Brett Wilbanks, all friends of the groom.
Timmonsville resident Joshua Jackson McGregor and New Zion resident Britton Smith McKenzie, both cousins of the bride, served as acolytes for the ceremony.
New Zion resident William Bryson McDonald and Timmonsville resident William Logan McGregor, cousins of the bride, served as program attendants.
Mr. and Mrs. James Timothy Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eubanks Taylor Jr. and Mrs. Judy Craft Tinsley, all of Anderson, served as the wedding greeters.
Ashley Mantooth Stone of Anderson served as the wedding director.
Immediately following the ceremony, the bride's parents hosted a reception dinner at The Bleckley Station. It was catered by Sullivan's Metropolitan Grill. At the end of the evening, the bride and groom were given a sparkler send-off. Gerald Riggins of Anderson drove the couple off in his silver 1957 Chevrolet convertible.
Riggins gave this car to his wife, Lois, for their 50th wedding anniversary.
The night before the ceremony, Aug. 18, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal party dinner at J. Peters Grill in Anderson.
After a wedding trip to Los Cabos, Mexico, the couple resides in Atlanta.
