Sumter road to be closed next week

South Carolina Department of Transportation spokesman Robert P. Kudelka said Monday night that all lanes of Kingsbury Road between Warland Road and Ketch Avenue in Sumter County will be closed to through-traffic beginning 8 a.m. Oct. 23 and ending 5 p.m. Oct. 27. This is technically between mile 1.92 and 1.94. The closure is for a "drainage improvement project," Kudelka said. "A detour will be in place for motorists to follow," he noted. We are sharing this for our Clarendon residents who travel to Sumter from work or those Sumter folks who travel to Clarendon for work.
