Smunk, Holladay unite in marriage

Louise Alsbrook Smunk and Kenneth Hunter Holladay were united in marriage on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church in Kingstree. The bride’s parents hosted a reception at the home of the groom’s parents, the Holladay Farm in Manning. On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Stables in Lake City. The bride is the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. William Louis Smunk of Kingstree. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Junius Webster Swittenberg Jr. of Kingstree and the late Lt. Col. And Mrs. Louis Richard Smunk, formerly of Beaufort. She graduated from Williamsburg Academy and the College of Charleston, receiving a bachelor of science degree in in biology. She graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina with a bachelor of science in nursing. She is currently pursuing a doctorate as a family nurse practitioner from the University of South Carolina. She is employed as a pediatric intensive care unit nurse with McLeod Regional Medical Center. The groom is the son of Mr. And Mrs. Kenneth Thomas Holladay of Manning. He is the grandson of the late Mr. And Mrs Archie Kenneth Holladay of Manning and the late Mr. And Mrs. William Henry Brunson of Manning. The groom is a graduate of Laurence Manning Academy and Wofford College, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in environmental studies from the latter. He is self-employed. The Rev .Donald Ray Muncie officiated at the ceremony. Escorted and given by her father in marriage, the bride wore a custom-designed Modern Trousseau gown with a re-embroidered bodice of French alencon lace. The gown featured a scalloped, off-the-shoulder neckline, elbow-length sleeves and an Italian crepe skirt. The chapel-length Train was complemented by a chapel-length veil with a scalloped French Chantilly lace edge. The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory and blush garden roses, ranunculus and spray roses. Margaret Jonte Reynolds of Kingstree served as matron of honor. Maidens of honor included cousins of the bride, Catharine Campbell Easterling of Greenville and Julia Bradford Easterling of Pawleys Island Bridesmaids included Trudy Nettles Baker of Lake City; sister of the bride, Holly Diane Holladay of Starkville, Mississippi; Caitlin Altman Jordan of Lake City; Emily Baker Kellahan and Natalie Gibbons Lamb, both of Kingstree; Emily Evans Limehouse of Mt. Pleasant; Frances Louise McGill of Kingstree; Mary Lauren Reddeck of Lake City; Maggie Ruth Clifton of Greenville, North Carolina; Kathryn Hutton Couch of Camden; and Danielle Easler Tindal of Summerton. The maidens of honor and bridesmaids wore floor-length gowns in blush pink satin. Each carried a hand-tied bouquet of ivory and blush garden roses, ranunculus and spray roses. Kenneth Thomas Holladay, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen included Joshua James Boykin of Sumter; Robert Michael Grifin Jr. of Manning; Jack Edmund Johnson III of Mt. Pleasant; Kevin Harold Lamb of Kingstree; Charles Owen Nation III of Charleston; Jonathan Marion Patrick of Manning; William Evans Reynolds of Kingstree; Eric Kyle Smith of Kingstree; William Lamon Wheeler of Manning; Clinton Bethea McDuffie of Sumter; John Vinson McDowell III of Mt. Pleasant; and Carl Lloyd Yandle of Charleston. Cousin of the bride, Edward Fuller Easterling of Greenville, served as ring-bearer at the ceremony. Following a honeymoon in the Greek Isles, the couple resides in Kingstree.
