MANNING – William Haun “Bill” Perry, 92, husband of Arena Holladay Perry, died Sunday, October 15, 2017, at Covenant Place in Sumter.

Born February 22, 1925, in Wallins Creek, Kentucky, he was a son of the late James Nelson Perry and the late Margaret Haun Perry. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, as well as a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Manning Lyons Club and Manning First Baptist Church.

Survivors besides his wife include three daughters, Jean Kelly (James) of Sanford, North Carolina, Elaine Tatum (Bobby) of Manson, North Carolina and Cheryl Staab (Ken) of Charlotte, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Morgan Tatum (Tonya), Perry Ashley (Joe), Jeremy Kelly (Beyke), Paige Johnson (Jeremy), Jordan Staab (Ashley), Sara Hoover (Trey), Samantha Houston (Jonathan), Derrick Holladay, Darcy Holladay and Deanna Fogler (Wesley); 14 great-grandchildren, Brandon Peele, Drew, Will and Elizabeth Ashley, Cameron and Teagan Kelly, Sydney and Ryker Staab, Tatum, Michaela, Cade & Maddox Johnson, Maddelyn Tatum and Abigail Fogler; a sister, Harriett Hancock of Knoxville, Tennessee; three stepsons, Walter Holladay (Deborah) of Neeses, Bert Holladay (Nancy) of Sumter and Stanley Holladay (Carol) of Barnwell; and multiple nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife; and the mother of his children, Edna Owens Perry; four sisters; and two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2017, at Manning First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Phillip Reynolds officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church fellowship hall.
