Forty-seven Central Carolina Technical College students were inducted Thursday into the school’s Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society’s Beta Eta Pi Chapter.
A ceremony for the inductees was held at the college’s main Sumter campus on Miller Road in Sumter.
“Phi Theta Kappa seeks to recognize and encourage scholarship among associate degree students,” said Phi Theta Kappa advisor Elizabeth Bastedo.
According to the group’s international guidelines, Phi Theta Kappa “provides opportunities for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate to exchange ideas and ideals, for the lively fellowship for scholars and for the stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.
