Letter: Send NFL players to North Korea

If we as a country should happen to go to war with North Korea, just send all of our NFL players. Let them step up to the plate and take charge. Let’s see how they take control when they kneel to Kim. I wonder, what do you think will happen with their demands then?
All for one and one for all seems to be their united voice.
Well, let’s see what happens when they pick up a weapon and stand a post. Stand guard in the cold and rain, put your life in someone else’s hands, take a tremendous pay cut, go on food stamps and struggle to pay your bills. Barely keep your family’s needs met.
Now it is a very different ball game – a different playing field with very different rules and no referees.
Danger all around, the smell of death in the air. Tension, stress and, yes, maybe even fear. Bullets, bombs, tanks, planes, blood, body parts, this is what our brave men and women face each day they arise, put on a uniform and stand at attention and salute our red, white and blue as it rises to its post above the greatest nation in the world, our United States of America.
Love it or leave it, but always respect our nation, our flag and what she stands for and represents, the fallen soldiers from before, now and forever.
Never forget the foundation of our great nation, “In God We Trust,” yesterday, today and forever.
Our heroes are in Arlington Cemetery, and not one has a trophy or Super Bowl ring. They got an American flag, a salute and a bugle playing “Taps” in the background. They rest in peace with respect from the living.
For we are “One nation under God,” united and not divided, until death do us part, together, one God, one flag, one country (and) one people.

Wow. I did all of those things for 30 years; including 5 years in South Korea; protecting the rights of the ALL Americans to chose! One day I will be laid to rest at Arlington with ever taking an oath to defend the flag or an anthem; I swore to protect the constitution against all enemies; foreign and domestic!

Trust your government, and your president and when he’s in his bunker with the other heads of state you and yours will be dropping like flys from the nuclear fall out.My Father fought for this country.WWll the Korea conflict,my son just enlisted. So if you happen to see me sitting down at a game come on over, and I can give you a history lesson about this great country we live in.Do some fact checking, vetting.Ask yourself why we are so hated around the world. You were being programed as a young child singing London bridges falling down.Maybe those players were praying to a higher power.

It takes a brave men to stand up or kneel in this case, for what is morally right. But these clowns have changed their reason for not standing several times in the past couple of weeks. First it was the third verse of the national anthem which had the words Harlin and slaves, then it was explained that the slaves were white men that were taken of ships and forced to serve the British navy. Then they kneel for the oppressed until they realized that they work for this nations biggest oppressors. Now its police brutality until they realize that we kill and assault more of our own people than the police do. It take a brave man to support a cause but get the facts or you just look racists yourself.

I agree with the letter. I am a Army vet who served 16 years until I was injured and was medically discharged. I respect anyone’s right to speak and to vote for who ever they wish but when it comes to the flag or the anthem I draw the line. If you can’t respect that then find another country to live in. As to the defend the constitution I took the same oath and the flag and anthem represent the constitution. If you wish to protest something find another way. I for one will not watch another NFL game until they get a spine and stand for something besides there trivial little selves. O say can you see.

If people don’t watch the games and don’t buy the sponsors products They will gladly stand on their feet. They have the right to protest BUT we have the right to boycott their games and their sponsors products. Hit them in their wallets. That’s where it will really hurt them. Protest is a two way street.

Laverne, what are you talking about? Who needs to get their DNA tested? In today’s society white is a race, and I consider myself black. I have traveled around the world and we are envy ed not hated, why do you think every nationality wants to come here and that’s why their governments hate us not the people. It wasn’t to long ago when the NFL boycotted us, and now they are boycotting several other states, just because they didn’t get their way. The NFL, NBA, NCAA need to stay out of government.

That comment was to the Matthews. That great that you consider yourself black? So mr.well traveled black man where were you when we marched for Trayvon Martin, where were you when little Ian was dash with lighter fluid and set on fire, his mother asked for our support.where were you when we campaigned for city council,Mayor,Representative,Sheriff, senator.I’m a single black mother and do realize I’m the lowers man on the totem pole, but if we have to take the rein so be it.This is about a bully in the white house.his MO matches that of the Las Vegas shooter. So if you’re not indendently wealthy. The military is how you seen the world.I’m sure they love to see you coming with your uniform and currency, love you long time.So you can pass for white???

That’s the problem, we have been protesting the wrong things for so long that nobody takes us serious. I was on the Trayvon train for about 2 weeks, then the truth came out, we were being lied to. Trayvon was not the little boy the news wanted us to believe that he was, he was a 6 foot tall 190 pound grown man, and his own mom stated that due to his gang activity, him being caught stealing and position on drugs in school she had to send him to live with his dad. Don’t get me wrong, Zimmerman still needs to be held accountable for his actions, but when an account starts out as a lie you loose all credibility. I am surprised that You as a single mom, are not asking where was Ian’s mom when this happened? Why isn’t she being held accountable? Trump bashers and Obama bashers have several things in common (1) They call the POTUS unfair names, (2) They post false/uneducated facts, (3) No matter how well the POTUS is doing they will put them down, My favorite is that they come off as being low educated oh and they what their voices heard but other peoples voices suppressed.

There’s back room meeting that will decide his faith.my child is 6″4 250lbs a gentle giant.people always ask if he plays basketball that an insult And racist remark.I’m a little over 5ft nobody wants to know why I’m not a jockey. My child is in the army so your ass can have freedom of speech.I got his passport when he was 10 we have been out of the country.I’m a native New Yorker and wanted him to see the real world find Zia.Zimmerman now,his conscious is eating him alive. He’ll commit suicide.

So if I ask a white boy who is 6″7 if he plays basketball, is it considered an insult or racist? I respect your son’s dedication to a grateful nation, but to put things into prospective, we have more than 400,000 sons and daughters serving, including 4 of my grandchildren, my father was one of the first blacks to serve in an integrated army. The one question that me and so many veterans have asked , is how does the military protect freedoms such as speech? isn’t that really POTUS, congress and the SCOUS?

We do agree that Trayvon should have never been MURDERED, but all these people involved should be held accountable (including himself and parents). Lying and posting false and outdated information makes your whole story look like a lie. If a grown man that you didn’t know was walking in your neighborhood wearing a hoody and his pants hanging off his a– wouldn’t you be concerned? wouldn’t you fear for your child? Like I said before, Zimmerman should have been held accountable for his role but all the lies and misinformation put a shadow on the case just like in the Ian case..

I find it funny how everyone is having a problem with FOOTBALL players, but no one is trying to do anything about the KKK. Why don’t we send the clan members to North Korea?? America was built off of the blood and sweat and tears of SLAVES after it was STOLEN from Native Americans and y’all really think this country is “One nation under God”?? God would NOT be happy with a country that is full of so much hate and racism as AMERICA & this country WILL receive the karma it deserves!
