LAKE CITY -- Mrs. Beatrice McKenzie Hickman, 83, wife of the late Peter Winston McKenzie, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at her home after an illness.

Born Sept. 29, 1934, in Williamsburg County, she was a daughter of the late Randall Driggers and Bessie Filyaw Driggers. She was a member of Cornerstone Ministries.

Survivors include a daughter, Eva Jean (Michael) McKenzie of Lake City; her grandchildren, Jason (Ann) McKenzie of Lake City and April (Danny) Gibson of Coward; her sisters, Hazel (Paul) Parrott of Timmonsville and Thelma Miles of Lake City; her stepsons, Charles (Sheila) Hickman of Turbeville and Joey Hickman of Sumter; a stepdaughter, Lisa Bryant; three great-grandchildren, Dylan McKenzie of Lake City and Charlie Floyd and Lizzie Floyd, both of Coward; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry McKenzie; a brother, David (Ernestine) Driggers; and a sister, Cholee (Sam) Sims.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at Cornerstone Ministries, 1900 New Zion Road in Lake City.

Burial will be held privately at New Town Free Will Baptist Church cemetery in lake city, directed by Carolina Funeral Home.

The family received friends at the church.
