A 47-year-old Summerton man was killed Wednesday night in a plane crash that also took the life of a Salters man. An autopsy performed Thursday on the body of Kenneth Britton showed that the Summerton resident died from multi-system blunt force injuries in the crash, which happened about 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Gourdin community near the town of Lane, a few miles north of the Berkeley and Williamsburg line. According to the FAA, the Cessna 401B aircraft being flown by Henry Haddock, 66, of Salters, crashed in a swampy area off S.C. 375. Williamsburg County Deputy Coroner William Horton III confirmed the men's identities about 12:45 p.m. Thursday. He said the autopsy produced the same cause of death for Haddock.
