Lady Saints fall to Beaufort

The Clarendon Hall varsity Lady Saints fell to Beaufort Academy 3-0 on Friday with scores of 25-17, 25-8 and 25-14. Sunshine Perkins led the Lady Saints with nine points. Sara James added eight points. The team is now 1-2 on the season.


Santee woman killed in I-95 wreck

A 25-year-old Santee woman died late Saturday night after a two-vehicle wreck on Interstate 95.
Lance Cpl. Matt Southern with the S.C. Highway Patrol said the woman was driving a 2009 Chevrolet passenger vehicle that was stopped in the right southbound lane of I-95 near the 109 mile-marker when she was hit from behind by a 1998 Freightliner tractor trailer truck driven by a Florida man.
“(The Chevrolet) left the left side of the roadway and struck a cable barrier as a result,” Southern said. “The driver sustained fatal injuries on the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt.”… Read the rest


Adult Ed to hold evening program registration Monday

Clarendon County Adult Education will hold evening program registration from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Participants will complete enrollment packets, placement testing and begin the orientation process. Classes will meet the same time on Monday and Wednesday. For more information, call (803) 473-2531.


HP reports fatal wreck on I-95

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is reporting a fatal wreck at the 108 southbound mile-marker on Interstate 95 near Summerton. According to reports, traffic is blocked going in the southbound direction. Manninglive.com will have more information as soon as it is available.

Lawrence Everett Seals

Lawrence Everett “Larry” Seals, 90, widower of Margaret Rowell Seals, died Friday, August 25, 2017, at Brookdale Senior Living Solutions in Sumter.
Born January 2, 1927, in Gibson, NC, he was a son of the late John M. Seals and the late Ila Mae Leggette Seals. He was a WWII US Army veteran and a member of Jordan United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two sons, Harold Seals of Waterbury, CT and Robert “Bob” Seals of Manning; three grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Lady Saints fall to St. Johns

The Clarendon Hall Lady Saints fell to 1-1 on the season in volleyball on Thursday night with a 3-0 loss to St. Johns Academy in Moncks Corner. Game scores were 25-23, 25-8 and 25-19. Ava English led the Lady Saints with 10 service points, while Madison Kidd added nine points.


JV Lady Saints defeat St. Johns

The Clarendon Hall junior varsity Lady Saints traveled Thursday to Moncks Corner, coming away with a 2-0 victory against St. Johns Christian with scores of 25-19 and 25-20.
Amberly Way led the team with 19 service points. Whitney Avins added nine points. The team is now 2-0 on the season.
