Dr. Rosetta Evans Dingle, an associate professor of music at South Carolina State University and a Clarendon County native, represented South Carolina as the only music education delegate for the Oxford Round Table, an international educational organization whose purpose is to promote interdisciplinary studies through a series of symposiums. Dingle was invited to present at the invitation-only International Round Table Symposiums, which comprised the 26th Education and Childhood Issues Symposium. The symposium convened July 17-20 at Harris Manchester College at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England. Dingle was among the 24 delegates of scholars, who represented countries including Africa, Australia, Canada, China, Israel, Japan, Mexico and the United States. As the only representative from South Carolina and the only music education delegate, Dingle presented the topic “Implications for Integrating Music with Integrity,” a compilation study from which three overarching music purposes were identified and demonstrated through developmentally appropriate performance instruction. She also served as a Round Table discussion leader. Dingle was presented a certificate and now serves as an Oxford Round Table alumna of the Oxford Round Table Symposium. This makes her eligible to be invited to future International Round Table symposiums. Additionally, she has been provided an international platform by which she and her students may benefit from networking and sharing effective practices with colleagues related to music education experiences such as performance instruction, achievement, leadership, partnership and assessment. Dingle is the 2015-2016 Professor of the Year for the College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences.
