Three Laurence Manning Academy students attended the National Youth Leadership Forum: Explore STEM program this summer. It was a six-day experience for students to learn by doing as they participated in hands-on simulations, workshops, and competitions. It is the hope of the program that these students will become the next generations of innovators, engineers, doctors, software developers, mathematicians, and physicists.

Seventh-grader Karley Brown and eighth-graders Autumn Carey and Vivian Bryant were able to meet students from all over the country and talk about travel to Mars with an astronaut from NASA. Each student had her leadership potential assessed and strengths and weaknesses identified.
