The Manning Police Department is searching for a suspect which video surveillance shows broke into and stole money from two local businesses early Saturday morning.

Police believe the suspect also broke into another local business, although no video surveillance exists for that break-in.

Police believe the suspect first broke into JK's House of Ribs about 1:28 a.m. Saturday, taking an unknown amount of money while looking through the business for nearly 20 minutes, according to video surveillance.

"He's one of the neatest burglars I've seen," said Inv. Rick Elms. "He didn't cause much of a mess. He just got into the cash register and looked around the store."

Police believe he next traveled to Gullah Gullah on West Boyce Street.

"He went through that restaurant, but likely saw no cash and then just left," said Elms. "He didn't steal anything there. The only damage he caused was forcing open the back door."

Video then shows the suspect at Brunson's Pharmacy about 3:30 a.m. Saturday.

"The damaged the front door breaking in with a crow bar," said Elms.

The suspect took about $160 in cash from the drug store before an alarm sounded.

"He flees after he hears the delayed alarm," said Elms.

Later that same morning, there was another break-in to the gas station on U.S. 521 across from Burger Chick, Elms said.

"That is a county case, but we believe it is connected, due to the time and location," said Elms.

The suspect is described as 5-foot-8 to 6-foot-1 and of slender build. He was wearing a black hoodie and a black-and-white bandana. The night vision on an outside camera at JK's shows the suspect in negative. He was driving a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Ford Expedition, with brown trim.
