Guilty Pleas: Aug. 7-11

Circuit Court Judge D. Craig Brown heard the following guilty pleas during a term of General Sessions Court held Aug. 7-11 at the Clarendon County Courthouse in Manning. Ty Marquis Bennett of 3197 Arlen Road in Manning pleaded guilty Aug. 9 to larceny or breaking into motor vehicle or tanks, pumps where fuel, lubricants are stored, receiving a sentence of three years in prison, suspended to three days in jail, time-served and two years' probation. Bennett served two days at the Clarendon County Detention Center after his arrest July 3, according to the Clarendon County Public Court Index. Andrew Billups of 1349 Corbett Road in Pinewood pleaded guilty Aug. 7 to unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person, receiving a sentence of seven years in prison, suspended to 30 months in prison and three years' probation. He was originally charged with attempted murder in April 2014. April Sims Coker of 4692 Turbeville Highway in Turbeville pleaded guilty Aug. 9 to financial transaction card fraud of a value more than $500 in a six month period, by cardholder, receiving a sentence of two years in prison, suspended to 35 days in jail, time-served and 18 months' probation. According to the Clarendon County Public Court Index, Coker served one day at the Clarendon County Detention Center after her arrest July 6. Colton Noble Dunn of 30 Island Drive in Sumter pleaded guilty Aug. 7 to grand larceny of a value more than $2,000 but less than $10,000, receiving a sentence of five years in prison, suspended to 124 days in prison, time-served and five years' probation. According to the Clarendon County Public Court Index, Dunn remained detained at the Clarendon County Detention Center after his July 15 arrest. A charge of first-degree burglary was dropped during the plea. Kenyatta Kareem Edwards of 1040 Lumley Ave. in Manning pleaded guilty Aug. 7 to third-degree assault and battery, receiving a sentence of 30 days in jail. Edwards was initially charged July 14 with first-degree domestic violence, according to the Clarendon County Public Court Index. Eugene Green of 1321 Bonner Ave. in Columbia pleaded guilty Aug. 7 to possession of contraband by a prisoner or furnishing or attempting to furnish a prisoner with contraband, receiving a sentence of five years in prison, suspended to 92 days in jail, time-served and a year's probation. Green had been detained since his Jan. 4, 2015, arrest, according to the Clarendon County Public Court Index. Rantz Andrew Killman of 1191 Levi St. in Manning pleaded guilty Aug. 7 to the manufacture or possession of a Schedule I-III controlled substance or flunitrazepam or analogue with intent to distribute, first offense, receiving a sentence of 18 months in prison. Richard Stephen Rogers Jr. of 20 Antrim Court in Sumter pleaded guilty Aug. 8 to Terron Taylor of 2225 William Brunson Road in Summerton pleaded guilty Aug. 7 to third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, committing or attempting a lewd act upon a victim younger than 16 but older than 14, receiving a sentence of three years in prison. He was originally charged July 22, 2016, with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor younger than 11. One of those counts was dropped during the plea process. The other was reduced to the third-degree offense pleaded to.
