One person is dead after a two-vehicle wreck that closed U.S. 301 at Brewington Road for the majority of Thursday afternoon. Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the driver of a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe pulled out from Brewington Road onto U.S. 301 about 3:15 p.m. "The driver pulled out in front of a log truck, and the vehicles collided," said Collins. "The driver of the Tahoe was killed in the wreck. The log truck driver was not injured and will not be charged." Collins said that the roadway was blocked for several hours, with law enforcement providing a detour. Initially, the Highway Patrol reported the wreck happening near Rainbow Lake Road, about two miles away from the actual scene. Manninglive.com will have information on the driver when it is available from the Clarendon County Coroner's Office.
