LYNCHBURG - Robert Edward Johnson, 72, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, at a Florence hospital, after an illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at Shiloh United Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery, directed by Floyd Funeral Home.

The family received friends Monday at the funeral home.

Born in Sumter County, he was a son of the late Robert James Johnson and Mava Green Johnson. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and was a founding member of The Sportsman's Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Rob Ard; two brothers, Van Johnson and Jerry Johnson; a brother-in-law, George Beasley; and two nephews, Bradley Johnson and Jeremy Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Annette Driggers Johnson of Shiloh; three daughters, Lisa (Ike) Ard, Michelle Johnson and Diedra (Joseph) Hatchell, all of Shiloh; a son, Robbie Johnson of Charleston; a sister, Dora Jean Beasley of Bishopville; two sisters-in-law, Becky Johnson and Lisa (Les) Scott, both of Shiloh; three brothers, James (Jean) Johnson, Larry (Elizabeth) Johnson and Terry (Beverly) Johnson, all of Shiloh; a brother-in-law, William (Lisa) Driggers of Turbeville; and four grandchildren, Douglas Ard, William Ard, Kinsey Hatchell and Joey Hatchell; a number of nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Clay Thomason and Erica Stone.
