CCTC pins 18 medical assistants

Central Carolina Technical College pinned 18 new medical assistants on Tuesday during a ceremony held at the Iris Room of the college's Health Sciences Division building in downtown Sumter. Medical assistants are broadly defined as individuals who assist other health care professionals in offices and/or other medical settings, performing delegated administrative and clinical duties in accordance with respective state laws governing such actions and activities. Those honored from Clarendon County included Shelby Boykin and Marquisha P. Vicente. Others included Priscilla Martinez of Kershaw County; Ishmael O. Henry and Kayla D. Huntley, both of Lee County; Kristi Benson and Shaneika F. Taylor, both of Richland County; and Morgan Braswell, Misty M. Kazmierski, Aubrey M. Nichols, Florangel Paez, Gloria J. Snells, Aveona M. Taylor, Carrie L. Trahan, Sarah D. Van Allen, Jessica N. Weaver, Monesha C. Williams and Shonderas L. Witherspoon, all of Sumter.
