Holly Garneau’s third-grade class at Manning Primary School donated $1,316.50 to Camp Happy Days during the 2016-17 school year. They are pictured here with Bill Ellis, a Manning resident who raises money for the camp throughout the year. The camp, which begins Sunday and ends the following weekend, serves children ages 4-16 who are either diagnosed with cancer or who have a brother or sister who have been diagnosed with cancer. Children are welcome to come year after year until they age out, after which they may return as junior counselors. At 18, the former campers can return as full counselors. Ellis said that although camp begins Saturday, donations are still needed to help with expenses. Donations may be dropped off at The Manning Times, 230 E. Boyce St. in Manning.
