McElveen-Coker engagement

Mrs. Mary Welch McElveen and Mr. Timothy Scott McElveen of New Zion announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristan Brooke McElveen of New Zion, to Lenich Eric Coker III of Turbeville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lenich Eric Coker Jr. of Turbeville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Watson McElveen of New Zion and Mr. and Mrs. Theron Caleb Welch of New Zion. She graduated in 2011 from East Clarendon High School and in May 2016 from Coker College, receiving a bachelor of science degree in exercise science. She is currently a graduate student at Liberty University, majoring in clinical exercise science. She is employed as a cardiac exercise physiologist with McLeod Health Clarendon.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Gloria Phillips Floyd of Turbeville and the late Rev. Merritt Lawrence Floyd of Olanta and Mrs. Elizabeth Long Coker and the late Lenich Eric Coker Sr. of Turbeville. He graduated in 2009 from East Clarendon High School and in May 2017 from Williamsburg Technical College with an associate degree in practical nursing. He is employed with Coker Business Systems.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Horse Branch Free Will Baptist Church in Turbeville.
