Marilyn Driggers Holladay, 70, wife of Ben Sawyer Holladay, died Sunday, June 25, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born May 22, 1947, in Clarendon County, she was a daughter of the late John Horace Driggers and Jessie Bell Blackmon Driggers. She was a member of Little Star Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she served as Sunday school secretary for more than 30 years and was active in the senior citizens until her health failed. She was known as MeMa to generations of children in her care.

Survivors besides her husband of Manning include a daughter, Charlene Emerson (James) of Lawrenceville, Georgia; two grandchildren, Jay Sawyer Emerson and Olivia PinĂ¡ Emerson, both of Lawrenceville; three brothers, John Lyrue Driggers and Paul Stephen Driggers, both of Manning, and Joe Carroll Driggers (Brenda) of Sumter; two sisters, Rhunette D. Mercer of Manning and Cornelia D. Brandon (Carlysle) of North Myrtle Beach; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Monday, July 3, 2017, at Little Star Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Jason Wilson, the Rev. Lloyd Ackerman and the Rev. Morris Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Stephen Driggers, Andrew Driggers, Joe Driggers, Trey Stephens, Chris Thigpen, Michael Haselden and David Driggers.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Stephens Funeral Home, and other times at the home, 1248 Driggers Lane in Manning.
