Shirley Bodie Watkins, 81, widow of Bernard Watkins, died Friday, June 16, 2017, at Sumter Health and Rehab.
Born in Berkeley County, she was a daughter of the late John B. and Edith Bryant Bodie. She was a homemaker and a member of Crosswell Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Dorothy B. Able of Minnesota, Patsy B. Skipper of Florence and Edith B. Jernigan of Murrells Inlet; two special nieces, Irene Cooper Johnson (Bill) of Georgetown and Stacey McCray (Bill) of Alcolu; a very special friend, Len McLeod of Pinewood; and a number of other nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Hazel Charles of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
