Wofford College and the Aspen Institute are taking nominations through July 1 for candidates for the Liberty Fellowship Class of 2019. Eligible candidates must be South Carolina residents; range in age from 30 to 45; be a leader with a history of significant community engagement; have the potential to have an impact at the state level; be successful in their chosen field; and be willing to make a serious time commitment. Liberty Fellowship is a statewide leadership initiative founded by Anna Kate and Hayne Hipp, Wofford College and the Aspen Institute. Through the Fellow program, Liberty Fellowship seeks to inspire outstanding leadership in South Carolina, empowering the state’s leaders to realize their full potential. Fostering a values-based approach, Liberty Fellowship exposes leaders to diverse perspectives, critical thinking, and intellectual and personal development. "Each year individuals across the state identify high-impact leaders who are ready to apply their talents and expertise to making a positive contribution to South Carolina," according to a release. Though leaders cannot self-nominate, nominations can come from peers, friends, family members, or anyone who knows the individual well.
