Three Clarendon County residents were named Golden Medallion Scholars at the University of South Carolina Sumter for the spring 2017 semester. To qualify for inclusion, students must have completed at least 30 hours at a University of South Carolina campus with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, and have achieved a 3.95 or higher GPA for the spring 2017 semester while being registered for 12 or more hours on the Sumter campus, of which at least six hours must be USC Sumter courses.
Those from Clarendon included Ami Patel and Trevor Tollison, both of Manning; and Malorie Berry of Turbeville.
