A 21-year-old Olanta woman was charged by the Sumter County Sheriff's Office June 1 with third-degree assault by mob.
Carla S. Smith of 1325 Norwood Road in Olanta was charged for allegedly striking a victim in the head with a beer bottle, causing a cut to the head. She also allegedly punched the victim in the face during an altercation at a home in the 1300 block of Norwood Road.
