The Sumter County Coroner's Office has released the identity of a man who died in the waters of Lake Marion off Pack's Landing late Tuesday night.
Marquille Miller of Dalzell was pronounced dead Wednesday shortly after his body was recovered from the water about 10:15 a.m. Dive teams had restarted a search for Miller at daybreak after canceling the search the night before.
Capt. Robert McCullough with the state Department of Natural Resources said that Miller was not wearing a life jacket.
He said that boaters are required to have life jackets on hand for all people on board a watercraft, but they are not required to wear them.
