State Department of Natural Resources officials say that the dive team for the Sumter County Sheriff's Office is currently helping in the search for a boater who is believed to have fallen into Lake Marion near Pack's Landing earlier Tuesday night.
Capt. Robert McCullough said the agency got the call about a possible boating fatality about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. At this time, McCullough has only confirmed that there has been a fatality and that the deceased is male.
Pack's Landing is near the Sumter-Clarendon line.
