East Clarendon Middle-High School eighth-grade students Christine Fleming, Noel Freeman and Jinal Patel have traveled to the University of Maryland this week to compete in the National History Day competition. The trio qualified in March at the regional National History Day competition, and then won the state competition April 29 to earn their spot in the national competition in the Junior Group Exhibit Division. Their project focuses on the life and contributions of women's voting rights activist Alice Paul.
