The S.C. Highway Patrol is currently reporting a wreck with no injuries at U.S. 521 and South Brewington Road in Manning.


1,800 without power in Clarendon

Duke Progress Energy is reporting about 900 power outages in Clarendon County, with the majority affected the eastern portion of the county. Areas near Summerton, Paxville and Pinewood are also affected. Santee Electric Cooperative is reporting more than 1,000 without power in the county as well, with customers spread from the lake area to Foreston.


Tree across power lines on June Burn near US 301

Reports indicate that a tree is currently down on June Burn Road in Manning, about a mile from U.S. 301, and it is currently over some power lines and is starting to smoke. Traffic may be slower during this time.


620 without power in eastern Clarendon County

Duke Progress Energy is reporting 571 customers without power between Turbeville and Lake City and 47 without power in the New Zion area. Estimated time of restoration is between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m.


782 SEC customers without power in Clarendon

Santee Electric Cooperative is now reporting 782 customers without power in the Clarendon County area. According to their outage map, 508 customers in Florence and 110 in Williamsburg County are without power.


Powerlines, trees down on S.C. 261 between Paxville, Pinewood

Clarendon County dispatchers are currently reporting downed powerlines and trees across S.C. 261 between Paxville and Pinewood. Traffic is apparently blocked for the moment.

THREE FORKS, Montana – Broadwater County Deputy Sheriff Mason Palmer Bethea Moore, 42, was killed Tuesday, May 17, 2017, while serving in the line of duty.
Born May 8, 1975, in Manning, he was a son of Nebraska E. Moore II and MaryAnne Grayson Moore. He attended Clarendon Hall for elementary school and graduated from Manning High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from Western Carolina University.

Gamble presented with Manning Rotary scholarship

Laurence Manning Academy graduate Cale Gamble was one of four students presented Wednesday with a scholarship from the Manning Rotary Club. The son of Steven and Courtney Gamble of Gable. He plans to attend Clemson University in the fall to pursue a degree in agriculture mechanics and business. He wants to pursue a career in agriculture.
Gamble is currently employed with Gamble Farms and has also worked for Monsanto Seed Co.

Manning teen seeks help for hunger relief

Laurence Manning Academy senior Bailey Gottheiner strives to combat hunger in Clarendon County. 
Her goal is to increase awareness about United Ministries of Clarendon County’s efforts to combat hunger.   
In conjunction with the Manning United Methodist Church youth group, Gottheiner encourages awareness for hunger. She is also founder of the Red Cross Club at her school and works to be an avid role model to her peers.
