Willie "Mann" Smythe, husband of 23 years to Tonya L. Dennis-Smythe, died Thursday May 25, 2017, at McLeod Health Clarendon.

Born Jan. 26 1975, in Manning, he was a son of Catherine Smythe and the late Willie Filmore.

He worked tirelessly to take care of his family with Kimco Services for many years. He was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. All who knew him knew a man who was never ashamed to speak of his love for the Lord.

Survivors besides his wife and his mother of Summerton include a daughter, Kenyatta G. Dennis-Smythe of the home; six aunts, Roberta Miles of Bronx, New York, Virginia Richardson of Baltimore, Maryland, Harristine (Leon) Andrews of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Mary F. Boyd, Margaret Ann Smythe and Valarie Sythe, all of Summerton; six uncles, Jackie Smythe of Conway and James (Sheila) Smythe, Theodor (Jackie) Smythe, Tyrone Smythe, Tony Smythe and Kenneth Smythe, all of Summerton; a very special niece, Nevada Burgess of Sumter; a sister-in-law, Antionette Dennis of Sumter; a brother-in-law, Antonio (Yolanda) Dennis; a mother-in-law, Geraldine Jones of Sumter; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at Salem Chapel and Heritage Center, 101 S. Salem Ave. in Sumter. The Rev. Willie J. Chandler will serve as eulogist, with the Rev. Brian Stukes officiating.

A public viewing will be held 2-6 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Job's Mortuary Inc.

The casket will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Friday for viewing until the hour of services.

Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

Services have been entrusted to Job's Mortuary Inc. of Sumter.
