Guilty Pleas: Other Jurisdictions

The following Clarendon County residents pleaded guilty in terms of General Sessions Court held in May in Sumter, Orangeburg and Florence counties. Dion Demone Coolidge of 1355 Boise Lewis Road in Gable pleaded guilty May 16 in Sumter to the throwing of bodily fluids by a prisoner, detainee on state corrections or local law enforcement officer, corrections employee or visitor. Third Circuit Judge R. Ferrell Cothran sentenced Clay to time-served. Coolidge had been held by the state Department of Corrections since being charged May 20, 2016. Cedric Demetrius Simmons of 4053 Moses Dingle Road in Summerton pleaded guilty May 18 in Sumter to driving under the influence, less than .10, first offense. He was originally charged Feb. 3 with driving under the influence, less than .10, second offense. Third Circuit Judge R. Ferrell Cothran sentenced Simmons to time-served and suspended his driver's license. According to the Sumter County Public Index, Simmons served two days in the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center after his arrest. Deven Ulyseal Diajhonta Billie, 21, of 1915 M.W. Rickenbaker Road in Manning, pleaded guilty May 11 to unlawful carrying of a handgun in Orangeburg County General Sessions Court. Circuit Court Judge Edgar W. Dickson sentenced Billie under the Youthful Offender Act to no more than one year in custody with the state Department of Corrections, suspended to nine months' probation. Tre Shawn Terrick Jones, 21, of 4688 Dingle Pond Road in Summerton pleaded guilty May 8 to unlawful carrying of a handgun in Orangeburg County General Sessions Court. Dickson sentenced him under the Youthful Offender Act to no more than one year in custody with the state Department of Corrections, suspended to nine months' probation.
