Residents encouraged to line route when deputy's body brought home

Clarendon residents are being asked to line the route that local law enforcement will use to escort one of their own killed in the line of duty back home.

Montana Deputy Mason Moore, a Summerton native, was killed last week during what he thought was a normal traffic stop. One of his killers was later shot and killed himself during a shootout with police. Another suspect was charged with Moore's murder and with 14 counts of attempted murder for shooting at other deputies.

Moore's body will leave Charleston International Airport to head to Clarendon County about 6:30 p.m. Thursday, arriving back about 8 p.m. Moore's escorts will travel on Interstate 26 West to Interstate 95 North, then leave the interstate at Exit 119 to head down Paxville Highway into downtown Manning. The route will continue after turning left onto North Church Street to head toward Stephens Funeral Home.

Everyone is encouraged to gather along this route and show your love and support for Mason, Jodi, their family, friends, and law enforcement family.
