Cathy L. Amos, wife of Terry E. Amos and daughter of the Rev. Johnnie Mae Miller and the late Alex Roundtree, died Friday, May 19, 2017.

She was born June 3, 1972, in Clarendon County. She was joined in holy matrimony to her loving and charming husband, Terry E. Amos. She was educated in the public school system of Clarendon County. She was employed as a cashier at Walmart in Sumter, until her health declined.

Survivors besides her husband of the home and her mother of Sumter include her daughters, Jenitki Nelson of Sumter, Kandra Nelson of Columbia and Talisha Nelson of Sumter; two daughters raised as her own, Brittany Dixion and Rochelle Vanbuen, both of Sumter; five sisters, Stephaine (Felder) Grant of Indian Head, Maryland, Latonia (Kalip) Franklin of Sumter, Doris (Tony) Armstrong of North Carolina, Joann (Adrian) Wilson of Wedgefield and Ashley Murrary of Manning; and three brothers, Johnny (Karen) Amos of Columbia, Michael (Sandra) Amos of Sumter and Kamiya Brown of Kingstree.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlene Wallace.

Homegoing services for Mrs. Amos will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Fourth Cross Road Baptist Church in Manning, with the Rev. G.K. Carter, pastor, and Apostle Jeremiah Blanding delivering words of comfort.

Mrs. Amos will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. for viewing.

Burial will follow in Bradford Cemetery.

The staff of Sumter Funeral Services Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
