Flash Flood Watch in effect for Clarendon through Thursday morning

Posted
The National Weather Service out of Columbia has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Clarendon County and surrounding areas effective through 8 a.m. Thursday. Abundant moisture combined with an upper level system and stalled frontal boundary across the region will result in numerous showers and thunderstorms the next couple of days. Heavy rain will be possible at times across the watch area. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts are possible through Wednesday night. Flooding in low lying and flood prone areas will be likely, especially in urban areas. In addition, creeks, streams and rivers may overflow their banks. A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a dangerous situation.
