Charles McCall “Mac” Hemingway Jr., 67, husband of Ann Beasley Hemingway, died Friday, May 19, 2017, in London, Kentucky.

Born Oct. 22, 1949, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Charles McCall Hemingway Sr. and Eleanor Edwine Zeagler Hemingway. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War and he was an ordained Baptist minister. He loved music and he participated in several church choirs.

He is survived by his wife of Manning; a daughter, Ellie Baquiran (Luis) of Spartanburg; three stepdaughters, Marie Dorr (Maynard) of Gable, Diane Benenhaley (Rod) of Sumter and Becky White (Daron) of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; a brother, Alec Hemingway of Andrews; nine grandchildren; and beloved pets.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2017, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Jeffers and the Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Summerton Evergreen Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include McCall Hemingway, Joe Hemingway, Mike Shirer, Kenny Keller, Brian Inabinet and David Shirer. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Dorr, Owen Baquiran and Walter White.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 411 Sylvan Drive in Manning.
