Manning woman charged with Charlotte man's murder

A 35-year-old Manning woman turned herself into Clarendon County law enforcement Thursday for her alleged role in the death of a Charlotte man nearly two months ago. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department announced Friday that it has charged Shenika Yvonne James with murder in the killing of 25-year-old Jarel D'Shaun Grace in Charlotte in early April. James is also charged with conspiracy, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault. According to a report from The Associated Press, James surrendered to the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office and is awaiting extradition at the Clarendon County Detention Center. According to reports, Grace's body was found in the front yard of a Charlotte home on April 1. Officers were called to a nearby shooting several minutes after finding his body. That shooting resulted in minor injuries. Police said both victims knew each other. James Russell Andrews, 23, of Charlotte, was also charged April 5 with murder, armed robbery, conspiracy, assualt and possession of a gun by a felon. No further information regarding the case was provided Friday morning.
