The Clarendon County Sheriff's Office is reaching out to the public to find any potential alleged victims of a man who already has more than 15 complaints in five counties against him for accepting payments for carpentry and construction work and then absconding with funds before work is completed. Sheriff Tim Baxley said that, in some of the instances, Chandler Warren allegedly left the property badly damaged in Clarendon, Darlington, Florence, Georgetown and Williamsburg counties. He said that Warren is currently in custody in Williamsburg County on Family Court charges. Baxley said that one complainant came to his office April 11 to allege that Warren was paid $4,000 in January to replace her roof. "(The suspect) caused serious damage to the roof and never completed the work," said Baxley in an emailed report. "The roof now has a tarp on it to stop the rain from coming in. Fifteen other potential victims have contacted the Clarendon County Sheriff's Office in reference to work that they paid (the suspect) to do at their residences, in which he did not complete the work and left the property badly damaged." Baxley said any residents who believe they could be victims of alleged fraud should call the Sheriff's Office at (803) 435-4414. He said anyone who has contracted with Chandler in the past two years should also contact his office. "The company name used by (the suspect) on Facebook is Warren's Remodeling and Construction, and was formerly C&S Interior Designs." Baxley said Warren is typically accompanied by a woman who goes by the nickname, "Sugar." "Currently, Clarendon and Darlington counties have pending warrants for breach of trust with fraudulent intent for more than $2,000 for Warren," Baxley said.
