Monarch track team competes in Region 7-AAA Championship

The Manning High School track team competed April 26 in the Region 7-AAA Championship held at Bishop England High School in Charleston. Mahogany Green took first place in both the long jump and the triple jump, with distances of 15-feet and 2 inches and 32-feet and 11 inches, respectively. David Fulton took first place in the long jump as well with a distance of 19-feet and 7 inches. More than a dozen Monarchs qualified to compete in the Class AA Lower State meet, which will be held May 6 at Bishop England. They include Amaya Dennis, shot put; Savannah Williams, discus; Mahogany Green, long jump and triple jump; Karisma Kennedy, 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles; Ashley Ellis, Madisen Winn-Dennis, Anasia Felder and Karisma Kennedy, girls 4-by-400-meter relay; and Ashley Ellis, Cherrion White, Anasia Felder and Madisen Winn-Dennis for the girls 4-by-800-meter relay. On the boys' side, qualifiers included Cam'ron Cain, 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash; Dontavius Bates, 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash; David Fulton, 110-meter hurdles, high jump and long jump; John Walker, 400-meter hurdles; Donavius Bates, Demonte Dennis, Cam'ron Cain and DeJuan Wilson, boys' 400-by-100-meter relay; eovante Davis, Jordan Dozier, Phillip Dawkins and Dontavius Bates, boys' 4-by-400-meter relay; and Geovante Davis, Jordan Dozier, Travon Stukes and Dierell Parker, boys' 4-by-800-meter relay.
