Chuck Howard and Ken Ellis won 2nd place and $2,500 with a total of 27.11 pounds of fish in the Santee Cooper Open Team Fishing Tournament presented by Santee Ford Chyrsler Dodge Jeep Ram held Saturday on Lake Marion as part of the 38th Striped Bass Festival. Dennis Craven of Santee Automotive presented the check to the pair, who also took the $250 2nd place prize for Big Fish for 8.09 pounds. More than 200 fishermen participated in the one-day tournament held in conjunction with the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce, and about $20,000 was paid out in prizes.
