The Laurence Manning Academy varsity men’s golf team defeated Calhoun Academy Tuesday at Calhoun Country Club in St. Matthews in a non-conference golf match.
The Swampcats outscored Calhoun in this event with low scores from Rutledge DuRant (36), Grant Kinlaw (39), Dawson Shirley (41) and Willi Williamson (41) for a final total score of 157.
Calhoun Academy finished the event with low scores from Clay Crenshaw (4), John Michael Flintom (41), Brodie Crenshaw (42) and Pressley Smith (48) for a total score of 171. Sophomore golfer Rutledge DuRant of Laurence Manning Academy had the low round of the match and was named medalist for the event, posting a nine-hole score of even par 36.
