A 47-year-old woman living on Nelson Circle told the Manning Police Department about 11:09 a.m. March 28 that her 54-year-old sister-in-law had struck her numerous times in the facial area as well as pulled her hair during an argument about 20 minutes earlier that day. The alleged suspect told police that the alleged assault was false and that the pair were arguing over the company the alleged victim keeps. The suspect told police she never struck the victim, but that she did place both hands up to defend herself when the victim came at her in an irate manner. Neither party reportedly had any visible signs of injury, though the victim alleged she had a scar on her face near the mouth. Police reported that the injury did not look fresh.
