Clarendon County Guilty Pleas: April 3-7

The following guilty pleas were heard From April 3-7 during a term of General Sessions Court before R. Ferrell Cothran at the Clarendon County Courthouse. All information was obtained from the Clarendon County Public Court Index. Brittany Alsbrooks of 1071 Bay Shadow Drive in Manning pleaded guilty April 6 to financial transaction card theft and financial transaction card fraud of a value of $500 or less in a six-month period, receiving separate and concurrent sentences of three years in prison, suspended to time-served and 18 months' probation, and time-served. Alsbrooks had been held at the Clarendon County Detention Center since her arrest March 22. Eight more counts of financial transaction card fraud were dropped during the plea. Jessica Dawn Banks of 3657 Lee State Park Road in Bishopville pleaded guilty April 6 to possession, concealment, sale or disposal of a stolen vehicle, value of $10,000 or more, receiving a sentence of five years in prison, suspended to time-served and two years' probation. Banks was held at the Clarendon County Detention Center since her arrest March 20. Kendrick Darrell Billups of 224 Alfred Henry Drive in Manning pleaded guilty April 4 to possession of 15 dosage units of MDMA or ecstasy, first offense, receiving a sentence of 180 days in prison; and possession of 28 grams or one ounce or less of marijuana or 10 grams or less of hashish, first offense, receiving a concurrent sentence of 30 days in jail. A charge of furnishing or possessing contraband in county or municipal prisons was dropped. Samona Billups of 1701 Dozier Mallett Road in Manning pleaded guilty April 4 to resisting arrest, receiving a sentence of one year in prison, suspended to time-served and nine-months' probation. Billups made bond the day of her arrest Jan. 22. Shawn Douglas Bowen of 295 Kensington Circle in Manning pleaded guilty April 6 to strong-arm robbery, receiving a sentence of seven years in prison, suspended to one year in prison and three years' probation; and first-degree assault and battery, receiving a sentence of seven years in prison, suspended to one year and three years' probation. Charges of kidnapping and possession of a weapon during a violent crime were dropped. Charles Erwin Epps of 619 Woodside Drive in Manning pleaded guilty April 6 to larceny of bicycles, value less than $2,000, enhancement, receiving two years in prison. Sidney Gibbons of 1121 Whistle Top Lane in Alcolu pleaded guilty April 6 to two charges of forgery of a value less than $10,000, receiving three years in prison, suspended to 90 days in jail and nine months' probation. Timothy Jerry Guyton Jr. of 2808 Bradham Road in Manning pleaded guilty April 4 to accessory after the fact to a felony A, B, C or murder, receiving six years in prison, suspended to time-served and two years' probation. Guyton had been held at the Clarendon County Detention Center since his arrest Feb. 27, 2015. A charge of accessory before the fact to a felony was dropped. Clifton R. Henry of 1160 Red Top Road in Lynchburg pleaded guilty April 4 to failure to comply with lawful direction of police, fireman or crossing guard, receiving a sentence of 30 days in jail or payment of a $100 fine. He was originally charged Sept. 8, 2015, with failure to stop for a blue light resulting in no injury or death. Connor Eric Holland of 56 Margin St. in Salem, Massachusetts, pleaded guilty April 4 to possession, concealment, selling or disposal of a stolen vehicle, value of $2,000 or less, receiving a sentence of time-served. Holland had been held since his arrest March 15 at the Clarendon County Detention Center. Charles Anthony Hughes of 5 Walker St. in Summerton pleaded guilty April 6 to second-degree domestic violence, receiving a sentence of three years in prison, suspended to 80 days in jail and two years' probation. A charge of third-degree domestic violence was dropped. Byron Cleveland Johnston of 10475 Scott Ave. in Manning pleaded guilty April 6 to first-degree assault and battery, receiving a sentence of five years in prison, suspended to six months in prison and one year's probation. Barbara Deann Judy of 1266 Timberline Lane in Alcolu pleaded guilty April 4 to accessory after the fact to a felony A, B, C or murder, receiving a sentence of five years in prison, suspended to time-served and 18 months' probation. Judy had been held at the Clarendon County Detention Center since her arrest March 1, 2015. A charge of accessory before the fact to a felony was dropped. Marques Davontrell Kennedy of 2797 Arlen Road in Manning pleaded guilty April 6 to possession of other controlled substance in Schedule I to V, first offense, receiving six months in prison; second-degree domestic violence, receiving three years in prison, suspended to six months in prison and 18 months' probation; malicious injury to animals or personal property, receiving a sentence of three years in prison, suspended to six months in prison and 18 months' probation; and resisting arrest, receiving a sentence of six months in prison. Charges of first-degree burglary and first-degree assault and battery were dropped. Cesar David Lopez of 661 N. East First Place in Hialeah, Florida, pleaded guilty April 4 to financial transaction card fraud, receiving a sentence of four years in prison, suspended to time-served and 18 months' probation; and criminal possession of a financial transaction card forgery device, receiving the same sentence. Lopez had been held at the Clarendon County Detention Center since his arrest March 7. Victor Lloyd Perry of 1136 Richardson Road in Summerton pleaded guilty April 6 to possession of cocaine, first offense, receiving a sentence of three years in prison, suspended to time-serve and one year's probation; and resisting arrest, receiving a sentence of one year in prison, suspended to time-served and one year's probation. Perry was arrested Feb. 27 and made bond the same day. A charge of possession of cocaine was dropped. Dandre Malik Ward of 1793 Geddings Road in Manning pleaded guilty April 6 to second-degree assault and battery, receiving a sentence of three years in prison, suspended to time-served and 18 months' probation. Ward had been held at the Clarendon County Detention Center since his arrest Dec. 8, 2016.
