A New Zion man will appear before an Orangeburg County magistrate judge Friday for a bond hearing on attempted murder and robbery charges. Reports state that Lance Michael Miller, 46, of 4373 Newman Branch Road in New Zion, allegedly fired three to four shots at the victim March 20 in the 1300 block of Pear Drive in Orangeburg, one of which grazed the man's head. The victim told deputies that Miller and another man came to the home to allegedly buy narcotics, and that they attempted to rob him about 12:30 a.m. March 20. Miller and the other man left, the victim said, but they returned a short time later with a gun and told the victim to "give it up." The victim said he ran from the suspects, and that's when shots were fired in his direction. Reports did not indicate the status of the other suspect.
